Welcome to my site Jo-JoMoceri.com.

I'm currently living in New York City and have been working with Mike Kissel. See more about Mike here.

Radio 88.5 WVOF (The Upper Room) with Joe Kelly plays my music on his program and I was in the March 2003 issue of DRUM! Magazine's "New Blood" section.

I started playing in 1983. I have played and or toured with Kid Rock, The Josh Dodes Band (VH-1 "Bands On the Run"). I was a featured drum instructor on MTV's "Becoming" etc...VH-1 quoted on the Bands On The Run website that there's John Bonham, Keith Moon, Art Blakey and Jo-Jo!

While growing up in Michigan, I played a lot of Blues, R&B, Funk, Metal, Fusion, Reggae, Ska, Swing, Rock, Hip-Hop. You name it, I've played it. I also played in the Killer Flamingos (cover band). While in the Killer Flamingos I had partial endorsements with Zildjian, Sabian, Vic Firth Sticks, Shure Microphones, and Yamaha.

I'm Currently Performing With:

Slam Allen . All it took was one gig with Slam and I hooked up as the drummer of his band. It's a pleasure to play with Slam who's worked with the likes of James Cotton and a multitude of known artists. (Watch for our upcoming European tour 2006).

I lived in New York City from 1999-2001. There I played tons of Funk, R&B, Blues and Alternative Rock. I got a lot of standing ovation's at open mike's around the city. I beat out 43 drummers to get the gig with the Josh Dodes Band. With Josh Dodes Band, I appeared in Vanity Fair magazine.

After the tour in Austin Texas with Josh Dodes Band, I got a message on my voicemail after I returned to New York, wanting me to come back to Texas to play with artists such as Ellis Marsalis. Unfortunately, they didn't leave their number and I couldn't trace the call.

I lived in Los Angeles from 2001-2003, where I recorded some 70's Style Fusion, ala Chick Corea style with an awesome keyboardist who played with musicians from legendary fusion band Brand X, which you can hear at CD Baby.

I love music! I have an amazing ear and can immediately play with anyone, any style, and sound like I've been in that particular situation my whole life! I do not use a drum pad or need to warm up before a gig. Most drummers consider this odd. It's just the way I do things. I have a very natural feel for the drums.

My outlook on playing is the same as my outlook on people. We are all the same and have the same goals, but we accomplish them with our own style. To me, most players over analyze and make things more complex than they actually are. Chops are chops. It doesn't matter what style it is. It's still just a chop. Breaks, pauses, all that stuff is usually very similar no matter what the style. It's all about the feel of the particular style you are playing. All the other stuff should come as second nature if you've practiced enough!

Detroit Free Press wrote an article during a hometown gig I did with the Josh Dodes Band in 2001.D

My goal is to gain professional recognition and to tour with a national act or artist(s). I'm available for professional paying and/or studio gigs -- all styles.
